For optimum pipe laying, a systematic bedding structure is required in the pipe trench, as shown in the adjacent scheme corresponding to DIN EN 1610 / IS 16098-2. The lower bedding [a] and the top bedding [b] both carry the pipe. Therefore, careful completion and sealing according to the load calculations are required. The height of the top bedding results from the bedding or support angle. This term is still widely used and characterizes in an easily comprehensible manner the carrying capacity of the bedding. The main compression directly above the pipe should be realised by a 20 to 30 cm cover layer [c] on top of the pipe soffit.The GIGACOR system must be laterally protected to a high degree by soil compression.

  • The very smooth, pore-free surface of the material prevents the formation of deposits and incrustation.
  • Average surface roughness values during service of k = 0.25 in combination with excellent hydraulic behavior of the pipe surface.
  • Well-balanced ring stiffness and ring flexibility: GIGAPIPE SYSTEMS tests the GIGACOR successfully with a deformation of up to 30 % and a ring stiffness of up to SN 8

Chemical resistance

  • DIN 8078, supplementary sheet 1.
  • The durability of pipes, fittings and sealing elements with pH values ranging between pH 2 (acidic) and pH 12(alkaline) is guaranteed without any restriction.
  • The resistance against wastewater and soil substances according to DIN 1986 is proven.
